Leland is a fishing village that was recognized as Michigan Historic Site. The mouth of the Carp River was developed into small harbor at the end of the end of the 19th and has since been used as harbor by the boats that go out fishing on Lake Michigan.

The 'ferry' to the Manitou Islands leaves daily from Leland.

Our best experience in Leland was undoubtedly 'The Cove', a restaurant serving more than the usual 'burgers' and 'salads' !
