The first walk we are making is located just north of the airport, on the peninsula in the far north east of Madeira.
You drive to it via Machico Caniçal, as far as the road permits. At the end of the road you leave the car behind and go on foot.
The full walk goes to Ponta do Furado and takes 3 to 4 hours. We restrict ourselves to the first part, which in itself is quite
spectacular and offers a beautiful view of the volcanic origin of the island.
