Tejeda is located at an altitude of 1000 metres in the Interior of Gran Canaria. The centre consists of only a few streets. The whitewashed houses with their red roofs and green shutters give the village an authentic character, that makes a visit and a walk in the centre more than worthwile. From different places in the village you have a beautiful view of the Caldera de Tejeda (the Valley) with the Roque Nublo and Roque Bentaiga.
In the Calle Hernández Guerra you will find a 'dulceria', where are made the typical sweet pastries that you can find in tourist stalls all over the island. Certainly worth a visit.
